Disney Princess on Ice

On the 25th we took the kids to see the Disney Princess on Ice show. It was a little bit of a later evening for them with the show being at 7pm and all but they loved it and I'm glad we took them. The show was 2 hours long and the kids didn't complain or cry once though we did miss the grand finale because the kids were exhausted and weren't really paying attention at that point. Sam loved seeing Snow White and 7 dwarfs and was giddy with each new song. Sophia seemed to love the whole show. She sat in Todd's lap for the entire show pointing and clapping at things. At one point in the show Sam gave me a big kiss and exclaimed that it was awesome! He kept asking me questions about the characters and tried to keep them all straight. Some he recognized and some he didn't. Overall it was a wonderful time (even if we did have the cheap seats and couldn't see everything so well). We all had a wonderful time and I look forward to doing more things with the kids now that we know they can handle being up past their bed time from time to time.

Don't let that face fool ya he was enjoying the show as much as the kids were. :)

At intermission Sophia streched her legs and told Daddy all about the show.

Genie and crew from the Aladdin movie. Most of pictures did not turn out so well but I got a few of this act because they had more lights on.

Just complaing about being tired so you can skip this if you want lol

I am tired. I don't really get why. The last 2 nights I've gone to bed early (like 9:30 and 10pm early) and gotten up around 7-8am. I'm exhausted. I also have a headache which I think is due to Spring's arrival.

Oh and did I mention sometime late last week I started to feel some awful pains in my left knee. I decided to take it easy after that last incident and because the week before I pulled a muscle in my back. I've not really gotten a good workout in a awhile and I'm antsy to get back to it. I long for time to myself to not think and just workout. It's not happening though like I said I'm tired and oh did I mention my sweet sassy Sophia has decided she doesn't need to nap and needs my attention every waking moment. Yeah I'm not sure how to handle that and now my window for workingout is gone.

I know that if I worked out I would feel better (physically and mentally). Though I'm sure the strain in my knee and back was from me pushing myself too hard so I'd have to slow things down a bit and go at a pace that isn't so hard on my body. Anyone else have this dilema? How do you handle setbacks like uncooperative kids and bodyparts that ache? Do you push through? Do you take time off? How do you feel if you don't get your workout time in? Lastly is it strange that I would be exhausted even with getting a normal amount of sleep? I'm just not a fan of feeling blah and would love to know how to get over these hurdles.

Easy dinner

This was so easy and tasted so yummy that I had to share my little experiment I made for dinner.

I took leftovers from my fridge -grilled chicken cubed, steamed white corn, and some leftover turkey stuffing- and put it all together into a baking dish. I tossed in some shredded cheese and mixed it all up and then put it into the oven at 350 for about 15 mins. Sprinkled it with a little sea salt and some peppercorn and it was good to go.

Super easy and super yummy. The kids loved it and I used up leftovers.

What is the best thing you've made to eat lately was super easy?

Today's blessings

1. The sun is shining.
2. I don't have to have the heat or the air conditoner on.
3. Sophia having a tea party with her teddy bears. Cutest thing ever!
4. Sam giving me huge hugs and kisses after getting home from school.
5. After several days of a painful back issue I am feeling better and did 2 miles on the elliptical machine.
6. Fun mail day: New Moon goodies, new checks, and my Word Made Flesh tshirt.
7. Did I mention the sun is shining?
8. Watching Sam and Sophia play and fight with each other I realized these two will always be best friends and that makes me smile.
9. Shoes--time for flip flops and sandals. Goodbye winter wool socks and snow boots.
10. Having a conversation with my kiddos and understanding what they are talking about.
11. Having a good book to read
12. Two days in a row of getting to talk to one of my neighbors and remembering my trips to Bolivia (and petting the cutest baby bunnies)
13. Watching Sam give his bus driver flowers this morning he picked from the yard just because they were pretty and wanted to give them to her (yeah for picking dandalions lol)
14. No cook meals for the kids - they love when I just give them random things from each food group and I love that I don't have to cook
15. Because it's warmer there are less clothes to wash (yeah for not having to do just a load of sweaters/sweatshirts)
16. Planning a birthday suprise for Todd's birthday in April and actually getting details put together for it
17. Weekly weigh in and I didn't gain weight but I didn't loose weight which means even though I didn't work out most of the week I did alright with what I ate. I can live with that.
18. Realizing my goals are not impossible but that sometimes we have to adapt them just a little bit
19.Thankful for a husband who deals with the frustrating things (like the bank) so I don't loose my temper
20. oh yeah and sitting in the sun and getting a little color on my otherwise very pale complexion :)
